Neon Lion at Good Town Buffet
Clermont, Florida | Photography by Buffet Authority
For a restaurant that lasted only about a year, Good Town Buffet left behind some surprisingly vivid visual memories. The Clermont restaurant opened in 2025 inside a renovated former Red Lobster, filling the familiar building with a large Asian buffet and a much more colorful interior identity of its own.
Among its most memorable decorative details was this enormous neon lion-dance figure, glowing in white, red, yellow, green, blue and violet against a nearly black wall. Removed from the movement and noise of the dining room, the fixture reads almost like graphic art: fierce eyes, sweeping whiskers and an elaborate crown rendered entirely in illuminated lines.
Good Town Buffet closed in May 2026, bringing its brief run to an end. The building did not stay outside the all-you-can-eat world for long. Within months, the former Red Lobster and former Good Town space was being transformed once again, this time into an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. The neon lion belongs to one short-lived chapter in a building that keeps finding new ways to feed Clermont abundantly.
