The Red Doors of Le Indya
Naples, Florida | Photography by Buffet Authority
Behind these bright red doors on Pine Ridge Road is Le Indya, one of Naples’ most distinctive Indian dining experiences and home to a weekend lunch buffet that has become a particularly good way to explore the restaurant’s cooking. The buffet currently runs Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., bringing together curries, rice dishes, vegetables, breads and other selections from a kitchen built around the regional flavors of India.
The address itself had seen a succession of restaurant concepts come and go before Le Indya arrived, enough that local food writers once wondered whether this would finally be the restaurant to break the location’s revolving-door history. Le Indya appears to have done exactly that, establishing a following around its curries, tandoori cooking, seafood, vegetarian dishes and unusually broad range of flavors.
The entrance is comparatively understated: twin red doors framed by palms and a small amount of gold ornamentation. Beyond them, however, is a restaurant that has become an important stop for anyone interested in the buffet tradition of Southwest Florida — and proof that some of the most memorable all-you-can-eat experiences are found well beyond the conventional American buffet.
