A truck crash interrupted service at Catfish Cove in Yukon, Oklahoma, on September 29. By the following day, the story had acquired a much better development: contractors, customers and volunteers had worked overnight to repair the restaurant.
The crash struck the business at 405 N Mustang Road just before noon. KFOR’s September 30 follow-up described a truck backing out of a parking space at the motel next door, turning into the restaurant and then driving away. The damage tore into a wall and brought down part of the ceiling.
Managers initially expected repairs to keep the restaurant closed through the weekend. Instead, help arrived from the Yukon and Norman communities, partner Eric Smith told KFOR, and the work took place overnight. The report did not specify an exact date for resumed dining service.
The people who usually come for dinner came to help
Catfish Cove has been serving Oklahoma since 2010, according to its current operator website. The family- and veteran-owned business now lists restaurants in Yukon and Norman, with hand-breaded catfish, seafood and Southern cooking at the center of its identity.
For the AYCE crowd, the restaurant’s appeal includes its sides and crab offerings alongside the hand-breaded fish. Catfish Cove’s regulars had a more immediate concern after the crash: helping put their dining room back together.
KFOR describes contractors, regulars and volunteers joining the work after the restaurant reached out online. Repairs that managers had expected to occupy several days were carried out overnight.
The business also has a Norman restaurant at 3025 William Pereira. KFOR’s follow-up did not establish an exact date for resumed Yukon dining service, so diners planning a visit following the repairs can check directly at 405-265-3331. The restaurant’s response to the crash, however, already had a welcome change of direction by the next day.
