T’s Seafood & Steakhouse is trying an all-you-can-eat version of its lunch buffet in Alexander City, Alabama. The restaurant announced the experiment for Monday, October 26, with service from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
In its restaurant announcement, T’s described the change as trying something new with the lunch buffet. A follow-up said the AYCE service was starting that Monday, and an October 26 menu post offered both the buffet and regular ordering.
The restaurant is at 712 Cherokee Road, where owner Tony Harris opened T’s earlier this year. An August 13 Alexander City Outlook feature introduced the new business and its owner, along with the longhorn cow display outside. The lunch experiment follows that opening coverage by a little more than two months.
T’s earlier lunch posts give a sense of the kitchen’s Southern leanings: fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, fried okra and green beans. Other offerings have included spaghetti with garlic rolls and a broccoli, rice and cheese casserole, followed by apple and peach cobbler.
Two kinds of cobbler is the sort of menu detail we are happy to take seriously. Those dishes come from previous restaurant posts, though, rather than an itemized menu for the AYCE trial. The exact buffet lineup has not been confirmed.
Regular menu service continues alongside the experiment. T’s October 26 post mentioned steak sandwiches, shrimp po’boys and oyster po’boys, and noted that some sides would not be ready until 4 p.m. The restaurant’s wider offering includes seafood and hand-cut steaks, as described by Lake Martin’s tourism organization.
The original announcement refers to an existing lunch buffet, with unlimited service as the change being tested. A price and recurring weekly schedule for the AYCE offering have not been confirmed, so its longer-term place at T’s remains an open question.
