The Grill from Ipanema Plans Kingston, Washington Move After Leaving Seattle

The Belltown rodízio restaurant hopes to resume service across the water by mid-November.

October 19, 2026 • Washington • BY BUFFET AUTHORITY

The Grill from Ipanema is moving from Seattle to Kingston, Washington, with the Brazilian rodízio restaurant hoping to reopen by mid-November. Its relocation announcement set Sunday, October 11 as the final day at its Belltown dining room.

The restaurant has not supplied a Kingston street address or a firm opening date. Seattle Met reported the move October 9, describing a relocation across the water rather than the end of the business.

For regulars, the familiar attraction is continuous charcoal-grilled meat service with a substantial buffet alongside it. The restaurant’s September Seattle menu lists picanha, ribeye, tenderloin, tri-tip, beef ribs, parmesan pork loin, pork ribs, leg of lamb, linguiça and chicken among its rotating selections.

Grilled pineapple and parmesan-garlic baguette get their turns, too. The buffet and hot line include charcuterie, salads, mashed potatoes, basmati rice, clam chowder and feijoada, with pão de queijo and fried bananas also listed. There is a decent case for surveying the buffet before the first skewer arrives.

The dated Seattle menu priced rodízio dinner at $72 and salad-bar-only dining at $38, plus a 20% service charge. Those figures describe the restaurant before the move; Kingston’s prices and menu have not been announced. Individually priced wagyu steaks on that menu were separate choices, not part of the unlimited dinner.

Another address in a longer story

The Belltown restaurant at 2313 First Avenue followed an earlier Ipanema Brazilian Grill at Harbor Steps, which closed in 2011. Eater covered the Belltown revival in January 2013, tracing the restaurant’s return to tableside meat service at a new address.

The website still displays Seattle’s location and hours while the restaurant prepares to move. Kingston’s street address, reservation schedule and exact reopening day remain unannounced.
