Sum Yee Kae Adds All-You-Can-Eat Dim Sum in Bellevue

The former Sun Sui Wah space adds an AYCE lunch program alongside its regular Cantonese dim sum menu.

Sum Yee Kae Seafood Restaurant in Bellevue has added all-you-can-eat dim sum, turning one of the Eastside’s large Cantonese dining rooms into something rarely seen in the category: a full-service dim sum restaurant with an AYCE lunch track.

The restaurant is now promoting the offer on its official Instagram, while its live Toast ordering system carries a separate “AYCE Lunch Menu” alongside the regular dim sum, dinner and drink menus. Recent Google reviews also reference the AYCE dim sum program, adding customer-side confirmation that the offer is being served rather than merely sitting in the point-of-sale system.

An AYCE Layer, Not a Buffet Conversion

One distinction matters: Buffet Authority has not found evidence that Sum Yee Kae has converted to a self-service buffet. The restaurant’s own materials call the program AYCE, not buffet, and its normal dim sum operation is table service. The current regular lunch menu still includes dozens of individual dishes – har gow, pork-and-shrimp siu mai, chicken feet, spare ribs, soup dumplings, rice rolls, buns and more – priced a la carte.

The AYCE category in Toast currently exposes discounted beverage pricing but not a complete public food list or base per-person price in the version visible online. That leaves some practical details unresolved, including the exact price, time limit, participation rules, included dishes and whether the offer runs during every dim sum service. Sum Yee Kae’s published dim sum hours are 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekends.

Those missing details do not make the format itself questionable anymore. Between the restaurant’s own social promotion, the dedicated AYCE menu in its ordering system and recent customer reports, the AYCE dim sum service is now well corroborated.

Another Turn for the Former Sun Sui Wah

The setting gives the change more weight. The Bellevue restaurant opened in spring 2024 as the first U.S. outpost of Vancouver-based Sun Sui Wah and drew heavy opening crowds. By 2025, Asian Family Market owner Ken Tan had bought out his Sun Sui Wah partners; the restaurant re-emerged in early 2026 as Sum Yee Kae.

On its official website, Sum Yee Kae describes the new identity as a “renewed vision” built around a more affordable menu, new dim sum, seafood and Cantonese dishes. AYCE now adds another layer to that repositioning without erasing the banquet-style seafood restaurant underneath it.

And that is what makes this more interesting than a simple promotion. Dim sum is already built around ordering many small dishes and passing them around the table; AYCE changes the economic rules without necessarily changing the ritual. Har gow, siu mai and custard buns were already a dangerous little sequence. Removing the arithmetic is a consequential development.

Buffet Authority is still watching for the restaurant to publish the full AYCE price, menu and house rules. But the larger development is clear: Sum Yee Kae has formally entered the all-you-can-eat side of Bellevue’s dim sum scene.
