Sake Cafe Uptown has added all-you-can-eat sushi at its existing Magazine Street restaurant in New Orleans. The new menu launched September 1, according to the restaurant’s announcement, which also identified new management.
The restaurant is at 2830 Magazine Street. Its operator advertises adult AYCE lunch at $20.95 Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the dinner menu priced at $32.95.
The dinner menu is available all day, every day, according to the operator, so guests can choose it during the weekday lunch period too.
The restaurant has posted separate lunch and dinner menus with sushi rolls, nigiri and appetizers. The selections differ, so diners choosing between the two prices should check the corresponding menu.
A Magazine Street restaurant since 2003
Local critic Tom Fitzmorris’ restaurant guide dates the Uptown restaurant’s opening to 2003, when it began as Sake Cafe II, a spinoff of the Metairie restaurant.
The same guide describes the Uptown location as a former K&B drugstore, with parking and a large Japanese menu encompassing sushi and cooked food. The AYCE addition gives that longstanding restaurant another dining format.
Axios New Orleans also noted the AYCE addition in its September 16 restaurant roundup. The restaurant’s own announcement describes new management, without identifying an ownership sale.
