ROOP Introduces a $55 Unlimited Table Menu in Chicago, Illinois

The West Loop restaurant's Endless Table replaces fixed courses with freshly cooked dishes and repeat orders.

Choosing among curries has become a little less fraught at ROOP in Chicago, Illinois. The West Loop restaurant has introduced its Endless Table Experience, priced at $55 per person for the food: diners order freshly cooked Indian dishes, share them and ask for more of whatever deserves another round.

Reports published October 7 and 8 describe a meal without a prescribed course sequence, with portions intended for exploring and sharing. Guests can make their own selections or ask a server to curate the table’s meal, and dishes arrive as they are ordered.

The restaurant at 736 W. Randolph Street has paired the change with a renovated kitchen centered on the tandoor and grill. À la carte ordering remains available.

More room for the tandoor

The reported grill selection ranges from tandoori beef tenderloin, malai chicken tikka and lamb boti to fish tikka, lion’s mane mushroom and achari paneer. ROOP also makes its malai paneer in-house daily, giving tables plenty to explore across vegetables, meat and seafood.

Charred corn comes with Madras curry aioli and crispy leeks, while the chili-cheese kulcha combines cheddar, Thai chili and shishito peppers. Breads also include ladi pav and paneer kulcha. With repeat orders built into the meal, the table can settle the question of whether one order of bread was enough by simply asking for another.

Signature butter chicken and ROOP dal remain in the offering alongside Kerala shrimp with coconut curry, lamb-shank nihari and whole sea bass with Malabar curry. Kharda saag paneer brings together spinach, cashews, confit garlic and fried leeks, and chicken and jackfruit biryanis widen the possibilities beyond the grill.

Chef Rohit Thaledi, originally from Uttarakhand, continues to lead the kitchen after a career that includes Indian Accent and Punjab Grill. The restaurant says selections will evolve with seasonal ingredients, marinades and regional influences.

A new chapter for the former ROOH

Owners Manish and Rina Mallick operate ROOP through Soirée Hospitality Group. The restaurant opened as ROOH in 2019, and the ROOP name first appeared here as a tasting-menu experience announced in August 2024, developed with Netherlands-based chef Mike Cornelissen.

That earlier meal followed a composed sequence. Endless Table gives diners more say in what arrives and what gets a repeat appearance—a useful freedom when the first taste makes the next decision easy. Reservations and restaurant information are available through ROOP’s website.
