Rodizio Grill is making room for another Utah table. The Brazilian steakhouse chain has announced a 2027 opening at 2309 Washington Boulevard in downtown Ogden, which would become its third restaurant in the state after Salt Lake City and Provo. The news adds a new Northern Utah stop for diners who prefer their steakhouse experience delivered in repeated visits from a gaucho with a carving knife.
According to the company’s new Ogden page, the restaurant will serve more than a dozen rotisserie-grilled meats carved tableside, with unlimited access to a gourmet salad bar and Brazilian sides made from scratch. The planned spread also includes original salads, seasonal fruit and vegetables, and a hot-food component. Rodizio is promising the familiar full churrascaria rhythm, not a traditional self-serve buffet for the meats.
The company describes the dining experience as extending beyond the carving: fresh-pressed juices, Brazilian limeade, desserts and spaces for private or semi-private celebrations are part of the Ogden plan. A local meat lineup and admission price have not yet been released, so there is no confirmed Ogden-specific list of cuts or lunch-versus-dinner breakdown.
The location is near Historic 25th Street and within reach of The Junction and Peery’s Egyptian Theater. That places the planned restaurant in an area already accustomed to pre-show dinners and downtown gatherings. Rodizio points to nearby street and public garage parking, useful context for a meal whose schedule does not always cooperate with a quick exit.
A return to the chain’s Utah roots
Rodizio’s Utah connection runs deeper than the new address. Founder Ivan Utrera said in the ABC4 announcement report that the company opened its first U.S. Brazilian steakhouse in 1996 and entered Utah three years later. The first-in-America distinction is the company’s own claim; what is unambiguous is that the state has been part of Rodizio’s story for decades.
There may be more Utah expansion behind Ogden. CEO Steven Staples told ABC4 that a fourth Utah location is also in the works, although no city, address or timetable was identified. That makes the current announcement the public piece of a potentially larger in-state expansion, not a promise of where the next sign will go.
Rodizio is inviting future guests to join its Club Rodizio list for opening notices and promotions, including a birthday-meal benefit after the Ogden restaurant opens. The company has not announced a precise day in 2027. For now, Weber County diners can at least put a pin in the downtown address and begin thinking about the salad-bar trip that precedes the next round of meat.
