Pizza Inn has signed a development agreement for 10 new buffet restaurants, adding a sizable block of future units to a chain that has spent the past several years returning to net restaurant growth. Parent company RAVE Restaurant Group disclosed the agreement Sept. 24 with its fiscal 2026 results.
The developer is described as an experienced multibrand restaurant operator with a background in pizza but no previous Pizza Inn relationship. RAVE has not named the company, the markets or any specific sites. The current expectation is for the first five restaurants to open during fiscal 2027, leaving the remaining five on a later timetable that has not yet been detailed.
Pizza Inn Adds 10 Restaurants to Its Signed Development Pipeline
That distinction matters. These are signed development commitments, not 10 restaurants with announced addresses. For buffet watchers, the significance is scale: Pizza Inn is putting another 10 traditional buffet units into the pipeline at a moment when many legacy pizza chains have moved away from dining-room abundance or reduced their buffet footprints.
RAVE says Pizza Inn completed fiscal 2026 with a fifth consecutive year of net buffet-store growth. The company has increasingly emphasized the buffet as a differentiator rather than a format inherited from another era, pairing the familiar pizza-and-salad-bar model with new-store development and remodel work.
The Buffet Chain Enters Fiscal 2027 With Five Years of Net Unit Growth
The company also teased additional Pizza Inn products for December without saying what they will be. That makes the next few months unusually active for a buffet brand whose core proposition remains deliberately uncomplicated: pizza comes out, people take slices, and another pizza comes out.
The next meaningful details will be the operator identity and the first five markets. Until those are disclosed, the 10-unit agreement is best understood as a confirmed expansion pipeline rather than a map.
