Parkside Public House in Indianapolis, Indiana, is ending regular service October 10, then setting out one final all-you-can-eat brunch buffet the following morning. The October 11 farewell runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at $25 per person, with no reservations.
The buffet at 2602 Shelby Street has a “Secret Menu,” according to the restaurant’s event notice. Parkside has not announced the dishes. Even at the end, the kitchen is keeping one reveal for itself.
The restaurant’s official farewell page separates its departure into several stages. Saturday, October 10, is the last regular service; Sunday brings the final brunch. Afterward, three dinner chapters will tell Parkside’s story across six nights, with doors opening at 6 p.m.
Those dinners are listed at $95 each, or $125 with wine. Attending all three chapters with wine costs $325. A final gathering styled as “The Funeral” is also promised, with its date still to come. In other words, October 10 ends the ordinary schedule, while the goodbye continues.
A difficult final year for an arts-minded restaurant
Parkside opened in 2024 in the Yoke Pavilion building along Garfield Park. Co-owners Lexi Haines and Phil Kirk developed a place that combined dining with art galleries, music and community events, rather than treating the walls as an afterthought.
Its buffet history includes an Easter brunch in April 2025, advertised at $28 for adults and $14 for children under 12. The restaurant’s current final-brunch notice calls the buffet its most popular event. That gives the farewell meal a connection to an established Parkside occasion, even though its final menu remains under wraps.
In September 30 reporting for the Indianapolis Star, Bradley Hohulin described a succession of setbacks: temporary closures during winter cold, an April kitchen fire, a May burglary and nearby drainage construction that Haines said hurt customer traffic. The report places the restaurant’s closing at the end of October after about two years in business.
Chef Abbi Merriss helped open Parkside after her long tenure at Bluebeard and returned to assist in 2026, according to the same reporting. The farewell dinners provide space for that broader restaurant history; the buffet is the simpler invitation for regulars to gather over another plate.
