Nagoya Sushi & Asian Buffet in North Lauderdale, Florida, ended buffet service effective October 7 and switched to à la carte dining. The restaurant remains open at 7250 W. McNab Road, where the next helping now calls for another order.
Its October 7 announcement describes a new menu of sushi rolls, Japanese dishes and Chinese favorites. Daily service now begins at 11 a.m.; closing times are unchanged.
The conversion comes less than five months after the May 21 ribbon cutting and grand-opening event organized through the Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. The chamber’s recap identified Kevin as the owner.
Bento boxes and à la carte choices
The restaurant’s direct ordering menu lists sushi and sashimi, regular and specialty rolls, curries, Thai noodles and rice, and Chinese entrees. For diners who enjoy a little of everything, bento boxes combine a main selection with miso soup, a six-piece California roll, house salad, rice and two dumplings.
On that online menu, chicken or pork katsu is $12.95, white-fish katsu is $13.95 and a 12-piece walnut-shrimp dish is $14.95.
Nagoya’s announcement gives no reason for ending the buffet. Its website still carries buffet descriptions and older opening hours, so diners planning a visit should use the October 7 notice for the new service format and opening time.
