Nad Tatrami Launches a Polish American Brunch Buffet in Monee Illinois

Pierogi, stuffed cabbage and made-to-order omelets join the weekend spread beginning October 17.

Pierogi are getting a place at the breakfast table in Monee, Illinois. Nad Tatrami Polish Restaurant will introduce an all-you-can-eat weekend brunch buffet on Saturday, October 17, with service every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The restaurant advertises a $22.50 adult price and $11.50 for children ages 4 to 10. Children 3 and younger eat free with a paying adult. Coffee, tea and self-serve orange, cranberry and apple juice are included; tax and gratuity are additional.

The published brunch menu puts Polish cooking at the center of the spread. Potato-and-cheese and sauerkraut-and-mushroom pierogi appear alongside grilled Polish sausage with onions, potato pancakes, bigos and gołąbki. Sweet ricotta-filled naleśniki add another reason to leave some space on the plate.

On the American breakfast side, the advertised selection includes bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, French toast, Belgian waffles and biscuits and gravy. Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine and Monte Cristo bites with raspberry drizzle give the buffet a few more brunch-specific choices.

There is also a made-to-order omelet station. Fillings range from ham and bacon to spinach, mushrooms and feta, so an omelet can serve as breakfast proper before the pierogi portion of the morning begins.

Nad Tatrami’s brunch announcement on its homepage also highlights pączki, while the full menu lists sernik, fruit and pastries among the sweets. The restaurant says selections will change weekly. Mimosas and Bloody Marys are available separately from the bar.

The buffet arrives at an established Polish restaurant. A contemporaneous feature in Lifestyles of Kankakee County reported that Nad Tatrami opened in March 2022, describing a dining room with a mountain mural and a menu rooted in the Tatra region. Its current website identifies chef-owner Pawel Wojtanek with the restaurant’s Polish highland cooking.

The breakfast schedule is changing with the launch: weekday breakfast ends after Friday, October 16, and breakfast becomes a weekend offering. The regular lunch and dinner menu remains available Tuesday through Sunday.

Nad Tatrami is at 25812 South Governors Highway. The restaurant recommends reservations for groups of six or more.
