Lin’s Grand Buffet has a Pasadena, Texas, restaurant in the plans at 3301 East Sam Houston Parkway South, where state records outline a 10,184-square-foot building and restaurant interior. The interior project’s filed completion target is February 1, 2027; no firm opening day has been announced.
The project has a longer paper trail than a single coming-soon sign. An April 2024 registration covered a new shell building and site work, with a $3.5 million estimate. A separate October 2025 registration describes a $1.222 million restaurant fit-out in the same-sized space.
The interior filing places that work between June 1, 2026 and February 1, 2027, following the earlier building stage’s scheduled completion. These are filed project estimates and dates; they do not establish the restaurant’s actual construction progress or a combined investment total.
What Now Houston reported the expansion in October 2025 after speaking with co-owner Eric Chen, who discussed the project with partner Jerry Wang. The account also covered another Lin’s at 5402 Highway 6 North, which subsequently opened in January 2026.
Two addresses with different histories
The Highway 6 restaurant took over the former Julia’s Mexican Restaurant near Copperfield. Pasadena’s address has a new-building-shell registration, so the Julia’s history belongs with Highway 6.
The operator also lists its Cypress Creek Parkway restaurant at 4511 Cypress Creek Parkway, Suite F02. Those operating Houston locations provide some context for the planned Pasadena addition, but they do not establish the new restaurant’s final selection or prices.
Lin’s official site describes its buffet offering with barbecue ribs, chicken wings, Mongolian grilling and Chinese-American dishes among the choices. The 2025 expansion interview discussed differences in the amount of food offered between branches, another reason to wait for Pasadena’s own menu before assigning it a dish count.
