Jjanga’s Fort Apache restaurant has closed, but its sushi has a continuing home at sister restaurant Mura Southwest in Las Vegas. Mura says diners can order an all-you-can-eat sushi-only meal for $35.95 without purchasing barbecue.
The restaurant’s announcements address both the closure and the continuation of Jjanga favorites. Mura lists nigiri, carpaccio, no-rice rolls, baked rolls and deep-fried rolls among the sushi choices it is carrying forward.
The address requires a little care. Both restaurants are associated with 6415 S. Fort Apache Road, but Jjanga was in Suite 125, while Mura identifies its Southwest restaurant as Suite 160. Diners should look for Mura’s entrance rather than assume the former Jjanga dining room has simply reopened under a new sign.
Sushi can still be the whole meal
Mura’s broader concept combines all-you-can-eat Japanese barbecue, shabu-shabu and sushi. The sushi-only option gives former Jjanga customers a way to keep their meal focused on rolls and nigiri instead of buying into the grill-and-hot-pot format.
Mura also describes a self-service bar with vegetables and sauces as part of its dining experience. Guests interested in combining formats should check the current menu for the applicable package; the $35.95 announced here is specifically the sushi-only offer.
Jjanga had already developed a distinctive identity on Fort Apache by the time Eater covered an eastside expansion in 2019. That report described a Southwest restaurant approximately four years old, with sushi burgers made using panko-coated rice buns, along with sushi burritos and pizzas.
Mura’s announcements promise a continuation of sushi favorites, though they do not establish that every dish from Jjanga’s historical menu is available. The operator also says some Jjanga favorites can be ordered through delivery services; that is separate from the dine-in all-you-can-eat meal.
The exact final operating date and reason for the Fort Apache closure have not been confirmed. The announcement concerns that restaurant and should not be read as proof that every business using the Jjanga name has closed.
