Jin Broth Brings Korean Shabu-Shabu to The Marquee Buffet in Astoria Queens NY

The November pop-up pairs an international dinner buffet with clear-beef-broth hot pot.

A buffet with spicy pork, beef galbi, chicken fajitas and penne alla vodka is about to acquire a bubbling second act. Jin Broth has announced a November pop-up with The Marquee Buffet in Astoria, Queens, pairing the venue’s international dinner spread with Korean shabu-shabu built around Jin Broth’s clear beef broth.

The collaboration is planned for The Marquee at 25-22 Astoria Boulevard. Jin Broth calls it its second pop-up and says the exact November start date will be announced later. It has, however, published the proposed menu and prices, so diners can already see how the two experiences fit together.

The dinner buffet by itself is listed at $30.99 on Wednesday and Thursday, rising to $35.99 Friday through Sunday. With shabu-shabu, the listed totals are $35.99 on Wednesday and Thursday and $39.99 Friday through Sunday. The announcement calls hot pot a $5 add-on, but the Friday-through-Sunday price difference is actually $4. The published totals are the clearest guide until the restaurant reconciles that small discrepancy.

The buffet is not playing a supporting role

Jin Broth’s announced buffet lineup mixes Korean barbecue-style selections—spicy pork, pork BBQ, brisket and beef galbi—with sesame chicken, chicken teriyaki, chicken fajitas, ropa vieja and Parmesan-crusted tilapia. White rice, egg fried rice, penne alla vodka, veggie dumplings, fries and other sides round out the list. Sheet cake and fresh fruit are named for dessert. The company cautions that dishes may vary somewhat by day.

Then comes the pot. Jin Broth says guests can choose between pork belly with brisket and shank, or ribeye with brisket and shank, alongside vegetables, fish cake and somen noodles. Its signature clear beef broth is the centerpiece: the company describes a process of simmering broth for more than 12 hours before concentrating it for depth. For once, the soup is not merely something to pick up while walking between the hot stations.

There is some history behind the collaboration. Jin Broth launched its Korean broth-focused concept in spring 2026 and staged an earlier Manhattan pop-up at BARO + K SUSHI beginning in May. That event explored broth through a more elaborate tasting-menu format. The new Astoria project moves the same broth obsession into a buffet-and-hot-pot setting, where the decision is less about courses and more about how much of the evening belongs to the buffet or the pot.

The Marquee is also an established Astoria event venue with its own banquet kitchen, rather than a newly built restaurant space. Jin Broth already lists the Astoria Boulevard address for its takeout operation, making this a new dining format at a familiar location for the collaborators.

The remaining question is when in November the pop-up begins. Jin Broth has not yet published a precise start date or a separate dinner seating schedule on the announcement page. The dishes and price tiers are tantalizingly concrete; the calendar is the last important missing ingredient.
