Hiro Japanese Buffet in Aurora is temporarily closed after water damage during a remodeling project. The restaurant says repairs and renovations are continuing, but it has not announced a reopening date.
In a notice on its website, Hiro says a contractor opened part of the roof and heavy rain subsequently entered through the roof and ceiling, causing serious interior damage.
The operator says it closed to protect guests and employees while the damage is addressed. It describes the interruption as temporary and says it intends to return. “This is not the end of Hiro,” the notice states.
Hiro is at 2797 S. Parker Road. Visit Aurora lists it among the city’s buffet options, with sushi and other Japanese food part of its established dining identity. The operator describes it as a family business that has served the community for 15 years.
Hiro’s advertised format includes sushi, hibachi and hot-food selections, with seafood, noodles, appetizers, soups and desserts among its offerings.
The updated website also advertises an arcade as coming soon, without a timetable for that addition.
