Richmond, CA, has a new all-you-can-eat address to investigate. HanGo Korean BBQ & Hot Pot is now operating at 3150 Pierce Street, in the large restaurant space formerly occupied by Saigon Seafood Harbor. Restaurant-development tracker Coming Soon Project verified the business open on October 30; that is a confirmation date, not necessarily the day HanGo first served customers.
The new concept brings together two hands-on approaches to abundance dining: Korean barbecue, with meats prepared at the table, and hot pot, with ingredients cooked in broth. HanGo’s own website highlights marinated beef, beef brisket, pork belly, spicy pork and seafood, alongside hot pot broths, vegetables and traditional sides. Korean fried chicken, bibimbap, japchae and kimchi are among the additional dishes it promotes.
HanGo’s posted menu follows a round-ordering structure: dishes appear as selections rather than individual priced plates, and a note limits each order to three items per round. That detail matters more to AYCE regulars than it might to anyone reading the menu in passing. It describes how the table keeps the cooking and ordering moving, although the restaurant has not clearly published its per-person AYCE price or whether grill and hot pot are charged together or separately.
From dim sum to tabletop grilling
Before the grills and broths, 3150 Pierce Street was the Richmond home of Saigon Seafood Harbor, known for Cantonese seafood and dim sum. The restaurant announced a temporary closure in April 2024, describing it as a period of internal adjustments. By August, local food reporting had found little sign of a return, and a staff member at the company’s separate Sunnyvale location had described Richmond as definitely closed.
That history makes HanGo more than another name on a newly lit sign. A substantial dining room that once drew guests for dim sum is again devoted to a shareable, table-centered meal, only now diners take charge of sizzling meats and bubbling broth. The building has changed culinary direction without abandoning the pleasure of gathering around a table full of options.
A September 24, 2026 application for a restaurant beer-and-wine license appears in Coming Soon Project’s development timeline, followed by its October 30 confirmation that the location was operating. Those records establish a recent opening, but they do not pin down a grand-opening day or identify a previous operating history for HanGo under this name.
The restaurant website lists weekday lunch service from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., then dinner from 5 to 10 p.m.; weekends are listed from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Its phone number is (510) 898-1010. Pricing and the exact combinations available under its AYCE ordering system remain the key practical details to confirm before a visit.
For now, the important change is clear: the former Saigon Seafood Harbor space has returned to restaurant use, and Richmond has a new Korean barbecue-and-hot-pot option with room for another round.
