Clearwater’s unusually large Cicis has closed after a decade of pizza buffets, birthday parties and arcade games. The restaurant at 1560 N. McMullen Booth Road ended service August 23, according to Bidder Bros, the company that handled its liquidation.
The September auction put the pizza kitchen, dining-room furnishings and family entertainment center up for sale. Bidding ran September 1–13, with equipment pickup scheduled for September 14–20.
Alongside pizza equipment and drink stations were Mario Kart, Jurassic Park and Fast & Furious games, plus air hockey, skee-ball, basketball and claw machines. There was a good deal more to this Cicis than the pizza counter.
Pizza with a very large side of arcade
When Cicis announced the restaurant’s June 13, 2016 opening, it described the 16,000-square-foot property as one of the largest in its system. It seated 200 guests, but the game room claimed most of the building: 10,000 square feet, including four bowling lanes.
The opening announcement promoted birthday parties and bowling nights alongside unlimited pizza, pasta, salad, soup and dessert. The buffet was $5.99 back then, with bacon stuffed-crust, soft-pretzel stuffed-crust and flatbread pizzas joining the familiar lineup.
That combination made the Clearwater location a sizable family outing, with room for a buffet meal and plenty to do afterward. Its liquidation reached across both halves of the business, from kitchen preparation equipment to the games.
The auction listing does not give a reason for the closure or name a new tenant. Clearwater has also disappeared from Cicis’ Florida directory; the restaurant’s former location link now redirects there.
