Fall trips to Ocean City still come with a 150-foot buffet at The Bonfire, but the restaurant’s current calendar calls for a little planning: seafood and prime rib service runs Wednesday through Sunday, starting at 4 p.m.
The restaurant at 7009 Coastal Highway posts an adult buffet price of $48.50. Arrive between 4 and 5 p.m. and the early-bird price is $45.50. Monday and Tuesday are outside the current service week.
Bonfire has been family owned and operated since 1973. Its spread brings together seafood, fish and prime rib with barbecue ribs, soups, fruit and desserts—a substantial part of the restaurant’s appeal long after the peak beach season.
Prime rib on the buffet; crab legs by the pound
For snow crab fans, the distinction is worth knowing before dinner. The menu lists crab legs as a separate $20-per-pound addition to the buffet.
Children ages 11–15 are listed at $20.99, ages 6–10 at $10.99, and children 5 and younger eat free. An à la carte menu is available as well, including the restaurant’s specialty prime rib and fried jumbo shrimp.
Tropical aquariums, stained glass and flower gardens give Bonfire an old-school seaside setting to go with its long-running seafood buffet.
