Assembly House has entered the all-you-can-eat brunch world.
The Sunnyvale, Texas restaurant identifies Sept. 27 as the launch of its new Sunday Brunch Buffet and says the buffet will continue every Sunday from noon to 3 p.m., paired with live music. That makes the change a recurring addition to the restaurant’s programming rather than a one-off launch event.
The details currently available are refreshingly specific about the schedule and less specific about the plate. Assembly House’s official Sunnyvale page confirms the weekly buffet and music, but does not yet publish a buffet price or a full itemized Sunday lineup.
Brunch Was Already Part of the House
Assembly House is not starting brunch from scratch. Its existing a la carte brunch menu has included French toast, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, a brunch burger, sweet potato hash, chorizo birria, avocado toast, chicken and biscuit, breakfast pizza, shrimp and grits and a traditional breakfast plate.
Those dishes are useful context for the restaurant’s brunch style, but they should not be mistaken for a confirmed buffet menu. Until Assembly House publishes the actual spread, the buffet’s exact composition – and its price – remain open questions.
The broader restaurant describes itself as a chef-driven American dining room and wine bar, with shareables, handcrafted pizzas, steaks, elevated entrees, cocktails, wine and bourbon. The setting also includes a greenspace used for Sunday live music, making the new buffet part dining format and part recurring weekend event.
A New Weekly Format Near the Restaurant’s First Anniversary
The timing is notable. Assembly House rolled out a new fall and winter menu on Sept. 23, launched the Sunday brunch buffet four days later and is preparing to mark its one-year anniversary in October. The restaurant occupies 129 N. Collins Road, a space previously associated with Settlers Table.
The concept is also moving beyond Sunnyvale. Assembly House is developing a second location in Aledo, giving the original restaurant’s new buffet programming a little more relevance than a single Sunday special at a single neighborhood dining room.
For Buffet Authority, the important part is straightforward: Assembly House now says Sunday means buffet, every week, noon to 3. The remaining details – price, exact menu, drink inclusion and whether the Aledo location will eventually inherit the format – are the pieces to watch next.
