Akame Sushi opened Sept. 16 at 12251 Folsom Boulevard in Rancho Cordova, California, giving the Sacramento-area all-you-can-eat sushi concept a second restaurant alongside its original Roseville location.
The menu is ambitious for a two-location operation. Akame advertises roughly 50 rolls along with nigiri, sashimi, dim sum, hibachi dishes and appetizers. Rancho Cordova AYCE pricing runs from about $28.99 to $38.99 depending on the tier selected.
Akame Expands Beyond Roseville With a Second Sacramento-Area Restaurant
The opening also continues a surprisingly durable sushi lineage at the address. Akame replaced Narumi Sushi, which opened in January 2025 and lasted roughly a year. Before Narumi, Samurai Sushi operated from the storefront for decades.
That history means Akame is not introducing sushi to an unfamiliar corner of Rancho Cordova. It is stepping into a location that local diners have associated with Japanese food for years and betting that a broader all-you-can-eat proposition can give the address a longer next chapter.
The Folsom Boulevard Address Has Decades of Sushi History
The tiered menu also reflects how AYCE sushi has evolved. Instead of one fixed list, restaurants increasingly use multiple price levels to separate everyday rolls and appetizers from more expensive nigiri, sashimi or premium items. The diner still buys abundance, but the restaurant controls which version of abundance was purchased.
With Rancho Cordova now open, Akame remains a small regional brand rather than a chain. Two restaurants are enough, however, to show that the Roseville model is no longer a one-off. The next question is whether the concept stops at two or begins building a larger Sacramento-area footprint.
