AIOE’s Overland Park, KS, Restaurant Adds a Second Metro Address for Made-to-Order AYCE

The former Applebee’s now serves sushi, hibachi and a broad Asian menu alongside the Northland original.

A former Applebee’s in Overland Park, Kansas, has taken on a substantially different menu. AIOE, or All In One Eatery, is operating at 11000 Metcalf Avenue, giving its made-to-order all-you-can-eat concept a second Kansas City metro address.

The restaurant joins the original location at 8654 N Boardwalk Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, where AIOE took over a former Kirkland’s at Shops at Boardwalk. Owners Jack Yu and Elvin Liu, also behind Magic Noodle, outlined the two-location plan in April 2025.

This is an opening follow-up rather than a new October debut. Overland Park was still described as coming soon in a late-2025 restaurant roundup, and local coverage confirmed AIOE’s two operating restaurants by April 15, 2026.

Sushi shares the menu with dim sum and hibachi

AIOE’s official-linked ordering site describes more than 160 freshly prepared items spanning Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Korean cooking. The AYCE experience brings successive orders to the table, with a selection broad enough for diners whose sushi rounds tend to acquire a few kitchen dishes along the way.

The current official menu lists weekday lunch Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at $21 for adults and $11 for children ages 4–11. The dinner menu is available all day, every day, at $36 for adults and $15 for children in that age group.

Lunch choices include maki and specialty rolls, gyoza, crab rangoon, tempura, yakitori, hibachi, ramen and udon. Dim sum adds crystal shrimp dumplings, pork ribs with black bean sauce and lo mai gai to the possibilities.

The dinner selection expands into sashimi, short ribs, soft-shell crab tempura, tuna tataki and yellowtail jalapeño. A Cowboy roll with seared steak offers a particularly direct bridge between the sushi menu and the diners who came looking for something from the grill.

The second restaurant followed a longer opening schedule

The Kansas City Star’s April 16, 2025 report described plans for the Northland restaurant to open in late summer, followed by Overland Park a few weeks later. Subsequent local coverage shows that the second location took longer than that original forecast.

The operator’s current site lists both restaurants, and spring 2026 local reporting confirms the two-location operation. An exact Overland Park opening day was not reported in those accounts, but the restaurant had joined the Northland original by that spring.

The appealing detail is how much of the menu sits outside a conventional sushi selection. A table can work its way through rolls, dumplings, skewers and hibachi without asking everyone to want the same kind of dinner. At an AYCE restaurant, that is a useful amount of common ground.
