8 Star Cuisine in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, is introducing a $19.95 all-day Wednesday buffet beginning October 21. Thursday service returns October 22, adding another dining day at the Richland Mall Plaza restaurant.
There is one important detail for the sushi contingent: the Wednesday buffet will not include sushi. The restaurant spells that out in its current menu announcement, alongside the new price and schedule.
Wednesday service runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The adult rate is $3 below the restaurant’s regular $22.95 weekday lunch and $11 below its $30.95 weekday dinner. For diners who concentrate on the hot buffet, that is a useful midweek change.
Children ages 4–7 are listed at $8.95 and ages 8–11 at $11.95 for Wednesday, with children 3 and younger free. Fountain drinks are $1.99 with refills.
The announcement follows a change introduced August 17, when 8 Star discontinued crab legs and its separate AYCE ordering menu, moving sushi onto the buffet. Wednesday now gets its own lower-priced, sushi-free service.
8 Star opened in 2025 at 5375 William Flynn Highway, Unit 14. Its family-owned operation combines Chinese dishes and other Asian selections, with buffet items rotated rather than presented as a fixed daily inventory.
A March visit by Discover the Burgh found mapo tofu, pig trotters, short ribs, General Tso’s chicken, crab rangoon and dim sum, plus baked goods and an ice-cream bar. That earlier visit gives a sense of the kitchen’s range, although the restaurant has not posted a fixed dish list for the new Wednesday buffet.
The Wednesday rate holds through dinner, so a late lunch does not mean racing the regular 3 p.m. lunch cutoff.
Regular weekday lunch runs 11 a.m.–3 p.m., with dinner from 4–9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday use the $30.95 all-day dinner offering from 11:30 a.m.–9 p.m. Wednesday follows its own continuous 11 a.m.–9 p.m. schedule, and Thursdays are back starting October 22.
