EXPERIENCE

The Buffet at Wynn opens into a setting that feels closer to a garden conservatory than a conventional casino buffet. Royal palms rise through the entrance and central atrium, floral arrangements occupy the space above the tables, and daylight filters through the arched glass ceiling. Beyond that bright center, the room breaks into smaller dining areas framed by carved columns, coffered ceilings, pendant lanterns and striped canopies over the cooking stations. The effect is impressive: a very large restaurant does not present itself as one uninterrupted hall.

That division continues at the buffet itself. Sixteen live-action kitchens are spread through the room rather than compressed into a single long line, so the meal unfolds through short circuits between seafood, carving, Asian, Latin, pasta, brunch and pastry areas. Some stations function like small open kitchens, with slicing, rolling, firing and made-to-order preparation happening in front of the counter. The layout rewards looking around before loading a plate, because the full range is not absorbed from one vantage point.

Wynn gives each buffet visit up to two hours, and the room makes good use of that pace. Repeated trips feel less like returning to the same line than moving between distinct parts of the restaurant. The dining areas remain polished even when the buffet is busy, while the atrium, palms and floral installations keep the experience tied to Wynn’s broader resort aesthetic rather than to cafeteria efficiency.

The result is abundance presented with ceremony. This is still recognizably a Las Vegas buffet—large, varied and built for multiple plates—but its defining feature is the way setting and service geography soften that scale. The restaurant gives guests a lot to cover without making the entire operation visible at once, turning circulation through the buffet into part of the experience.

FOOD

The food program is built around its broad menu, but Wynn gives its strongest space to seafood, carving, made-to-order cooking and pastry. Dinner places the clearest emphasis on the sea: snow crab legs, shrimp cocktail and stone crab claws form the cold seafood core, with oysters, caviar-topped bites and other small composed servings extending the station beyond a simple pile of shellfish. A rotating crab boil adds a warmer, messier counterpoint to the chilled display.

The caviar area is a useful example of how the buffet pushes familiar luxury ingredients into smaller tasting portions. Blinis, freshly shucked oysters and bite-size lobster rolls can be finished with caviar, making it easy to build a plate around several rich, salty bites rather than committing to one large entrée. The optional Ultimate Buffet Experience goes further with a 1.5-pound Maine lobster tail served at the table, but lobster is an add-on rather than part of the standard buffet admission.

At the carving station, prime rib shares attention with roasted turkey, bone-in Sakura pork belly and a slow-roasted Mishima Ranch Wagyu steamship infused with garlic butter. Boursin mashed potatoes and truffle macaroni and cheese are the kind of sides that make this section feel deliberately substantial. Beef short rib over polenta adds another slow-cooked option, while the barbecue side of the buffet brings brisket, ribs and other smoked meats into the same general orbit.

The international stations keep the meal from becoming a sequence of seafood and roasts. Sushi rolls sit alongside shumai, spring rolls, potstickers, chow mein, sweet-and-sour chicken and Thai spicy beef with green beans. Made-to-order street tacos expose another cuisine, with carne asada, pollo and carnitas joined by salsas and toppings. Pasta is prepared to order as well, and dishes such as lobster ravioli and pesto gnocchi give the Italian section more identity than a token tray of noodles.

Brunch changes the balance without shrinking the buffet into breakfast alone. Eggs Benedict and pancakes have dedicated made-to-order attention, while carved meats, barbecue, seafood and the global stations remain part of the appeal. That overlap makes the morning service particularly broad: a plate can move from a Benedict or pancake to brisket, shrimp cocktail, sushi or a carved cut without the meal feeling restricted to traditional breakfast food.

Dessert deserves its own pass. The patisserie is not simply a closing rack of cakes; it is a full section with pastries, cookies, gelato, caramel-stuffed churros and custom s’mores. The made-to-order crêpe station provides the clearest finale, especially bananas Foster or mango-passion mousse versions prepared while you wait. Because sweets occupy a distinct part of the buffet, saving room becomes a practical decision rather than a polite afterthought.

The most satisfying way to approach Wynn is selectively. The buffet is large enough that trying everything would blur the distinctions between its strongest areas. Seafood and caviar establish the premium side, carving and barbecue bring upscale familiarity, the Asian and Latin counters introduce global changes in flavor, and the patisserie gives the meal a deliberate ending. The pleasure is not only in quantity, but in moving between those different scales of eating: one crab leg, one taco, a slice of Wagyu, a small caviar bite, then a crêpe made to order.
