EXPERIENCE
Picanha reaches the table on a skewer at Gauchos, with your cut sliced by a carver. That is the opening attraction of this Myrtle Beach churrascaria: the unlimited meat service comes to the table. It gives dinner a little ceremony without requiring the guest to leave the seat for every portion. There is still a self-service bar, so the buffet enthusiast retains a reason to get up.
The bar runs straight beneath its glass guard, front and center, with flowers above. Nearby tables and arranged ladder-back chairs sit by windows. It gives the meal a readily understandable division between the foods chosen at the bar and the meats accepted at the table. The room’s practical arrangement keeps the attention on that exchange, rather than asking the guest to treat dinner as a formal performance.
Each carving visit creates a brief encounter: a skewer, a knife and the question of another portion. The guest can stay engaged with the table while meat service continues, with a trip to the bar fitting between those encounters. It is a different sort of unlimited dinner from returning for every serving oneself. Conversation shares the occasion with the carving, and a particularly appealing cut can become a subject of its own.
Cheese bread and grilled pineapple keep the evening from becoming exclusively a discussion of beef. Cinnamon-spiced pineapple arrives within the meat program, so the fruit has a place in dinner before anybody considers the paid desserts. Gauchos has operated in the Myrtle Beach area since 2021. Its appeal is the recognizable rodizio occasion: seated carving, independent bar visits and a meal that keeps coming back to the table.
FOOD
Picanha leads Gauchos’ carved-meat selection, seasoned with rock salt and served from the skewer. Garlic picanha gives the signature beef a second preparation. The unlimited meat-and-salad dinner includes that tableside meat program together with the bar and sides; a separate salad-only meal is available as well. Beef is the principal attraction, with several sirloin preparations and other meats extending the dinner beyond a single steak served as one fixed entrée.
Top sirloin, spicy top sirloin, bottom sirloin and beef ribs expand the beef selection. So much beef. The sirloin choices keep beef prominent through different cuts and seasoning, while ribs add another beef form to the carved program. Portions are carved at the table as part of the meal rather than ordered as separate steak dinners. That service lets the beef selection continue through the evening alongside the salads and sides already included with dinner.
Chicken leg, pork sausage and pork Parmesan give the skewered meal other meats beside beef. Pork Parmesan follows a cheese-seasoned direction, with sausage and chicken bringing different main foods to the same service. Those dishes broaden the meat selection alongside the picanha and sirloins. The meal can continue from a portion of beef to chicken or pork, with the bar and included sides accompanying whichever meat is being served.
Cinnamon-spiced grilled pineapple is the fruit offering within the meat program. A nice interlude! It brings pineapple from the grill rather than from a separate dessert order, with cinnamon explicitly part of its preparation. This is a particularly enjoyable churrascaria detail: fruit can join the succession of skewer servings at the table. The pineapple belongs alongside the meats in the included program, so a sweet grilled serving is available before the separately charged dessert decision.
The self-service bar includes potato salad, Caesar salad, spring mix, broccoli, tomatoes, cucumber, fresh beets, garbanzo beans and tabbouleh. Leafy greens and vegetables sit alongside prepared salads, giving that portion of dinner several forms rather than lettuce alone. Caesar, ranch and Italian dressings accompany the selection, with chimichurri and Brazilian vinaigrette also available. The bar supplies vegetables and salads that can continue beside the carved meat service throughout the meal.
Rice, mashed potatoes, fried bananas and pão de queijo are included sides. Pão de queijo is the cheese bread, with both names referring to that bread rather than separate courses. Cheese bread puts a bread accompaniment beside the meat, while the rice and potatoes give the dinner familiar starches. Fried bananas add another fruit preparation apart from the cinnamon pineapple. Together, the sides broaden the meal beyond a succession of beef, pork and chicken portions.
Drinks and desserts are charged separately. Brazilian flan, cheesecake and crème brûlée are among the desserts, with the included grilled pineapple already providing fruit within dinner. Meat selection can vary. The meal brings together rock-salt picanha and garlic picanha, other beef cuts, pork and chicken, salads and vegetables, cheese bread and sides. Cinnamon pineapple gives that included program a grilled-fruit finish, while the separately ordered desserts offer another way to end the evening.
