EXPERIENCE

Captain 6 is an all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue and hot-pot restaurant built around doing both at once. Each table carries a grill beside a divided hot pot, so the meal does not need to choose between seared beef and simmering broth. The tabletop becomes working space: raw meat trays, broth additions, banchan, sauces and cooked plates all compete for room as the meal gathers momentum.

The format is active rather than buffet-line passive. Orders arrive in rounds, the grill keeps moving, and the hot pot can stay occupied with vegetables, noodles, tofu or seafood while another cut cooks over direct heat. A 90-minute seating gives the meal a clear tempo; smaller waves make more sense than covering the table in every possible order at once.

Captain 6 sits in V City Plaza on Spring Mountain Road, inside Las Vegas Chinatown rather than on the Strip. The room is casual and group-oriented, with tabletop equipment doing most of the visual work. Once a tomahawk, brisket, steaming egg custard and split pot are all in play, the experience feels closer to a shared cooking project than a conventional sit-down dinner.

The long daily schedule also changes where Captain 6 fits into a Vegas day. Lunch can be a lower-priced weekday happy-hour meal, while the same grill-and-pot format carries through dinner and deep into the night. What defines the restaurant is not décor or ceremony. It is the density of choice at one table and the constant decision of what should hit the grill, what belongs in broth, and what deserves another round.

FOOD

Captain 6 gives Korean barbecue the lead, then expands the meal sideways with hot pot, substantial food variety and a set of beef cuts more ambitious than the AYCE basics alone. The clearest way to read the menu is to keep the grill focused: start with the cuts that justify the heat, use quicker slices between them, and let the hot pot handle a different category of appetite while the grate is busy.

Prime Tomahawk Steak is the obvious showpiece, a thick bone-in cut that turns the tabletop grill into a steak project rather than a quick sear. Prime Ribeye Steak, Emperor’s Kalbi and Prime Short Rib push in the same direction, while Wagyu adds another rich beef option to the all-you-can-eat mix. Garlic butter is available alongside the meats, giving the heavier cuts a simple finishing dip without requiring another composed dish.

Brisket changes the pace. Its thin slices cook quickly and make a useful bridge between larger steaks, especially when the table wants another bite before committing grill space to a slower cut. Harami Miso brings a marinated beef option; Prime Ribeye Bulgogi adds a sweeter barbecue profile; Beef Belly and Jalapeño Beef Belly bring fat and heat in smaller, faster-cooking pieces.

Pork and seafood keep the grill from becoming a beef-only exercise. Pork Belly and Spicy Pork Belly are straightforward Korean barbecue staples, while Prime Pork Kalbi adds another marinated cut. Butter Shrimp, Jalapeño Green Mussels and squid let seafood take direct heat instead of disappearing into broth. Cajun Chicken and Bulgogi Chicken add lighter-textured choices between the heavier beef and pork rounds.

The hot-pot half deserves its own plan rather than serving as a background prop. Mala broth can carry pork slices, seafood, tofu, noodles and vegetables, while sukiyaki and spicy tonkatsu provide contrasting split-pot choices. The broth can stay busy while the grill handles steaks and belly cuts. That parallel cooking is Captain 6’s most useful piece of variety: charred edges on one side of the table, broth-soaked vegetables and noodles on the other, with neither forcing the other to stop.

Around the main cooking, the menu behaves like an AYCE appetizer list as well as a barbecue list. Steamed Egg arrives as soft custard against grilled meats; Corn Cheese and Garlic Butter add richness; Gyoza, Shrimp Tempura and Korean Fried Chicken supply crisp textures that do not need grill space. K-Salad, lettuce wraps and seaweed salad can clear the palate before the next round.

Dessert is more than a token scoop. Affogato brings espresso bitterness to ice cream, while Green Tea Ice Cream, Vanilla Ice Cream and Mango Mochi keep the finish cold and simple. The food program works because Captain 6 does not ask one cooking method to carry the entire meal. The variety that comes from the simmering hot pot, sizzling grill and delivered side dishes keeps the meal active and continuously evolving.
