Fogo de Chão Signs Lease at Legacy Village for 2027 Cleveland-Area Opening

The Brazilian steakhouse will replace Brio in Lyndhurst, bringing tableside churrasco and its Market Table.

Greater Cleveland is getting a place at the churrasco table. Fogo de Chão announced October 29 that it has signed a lease for a restaurant at Legacy Village in Lyndhurst, with a 2027 opening planned at 24325 Cedar Road. The Brazilian steakhouse will occupy the former Brio Italian Grille space, bringing its continuous tableside meat service to the region for the first time, according to the company’s announcement.

The site has its own restaurant history. Brio opened at Legacy Village in 2003, closed during 2020 and reopened in 2021 under new ownership, before closing again in 2025 amid the chain’s wider difficulties, as Cleveland Scene reported. Fogo’s lease gives that prominent dining space a decidedly different second act: a room where the meal is measured less by courses than by how many times another gaucho visits the table.

Fogo’s signature Full Churrasco Experience is a prix-fixe service with meats grilled over flame and carved at the table throughout the meal. The company’s wider churrasco lineup includes cuts such as picanha, filet mignon, ribeye, fraldinha, lamb, pork and chicken. There is also the Market Table, with salads, seasonal fruit, charcuterie and other accompaniments. Together they make this more than a steakhouse with an unusually enthusiastic meat cart.

The Lyndhurst restaurant is planned around an updated design that Fogo says will offer a 360-degree view of an open churrasco grill, with guests able to watch gaucho chefs butcher, carve and grill meat. That visible kitchen is part of the company’s current expansion approach, so the preparation itself becomes part of the dinner.

This will be Fogo’s second Ohio restaurant, joining its Columbus restaurant on Polaris Parkway, and its first in Greater Cleveland. Recent U.S. openings cited in the announcement include Charlotte, North Carolina; Gilbert, Arizona; and Peabody, Massachusetts. The Legacy Village lease is another step in a larger rollout rather than a one-off regional experiment.

The key details that Cleveland-area AYCE diners cannot yet put on the calendar are the precise opening date and local menu price. Fogo has announced a year, not a month or a completed construction schedule. The former Brio site, meanwhile, already has the important part settled: a new operator and an unmistakably different kind of dining experience are on the way.

For anyone who has been making the drive to Columbus for Fogo’s particular combination of Market Table browsing and tableside picanha, 2027 should bring the carving closer to home.
