Fogo de Chão is planning a Cedar Park restaurant, with a new state filing identifying a $4.5 million project at 1005 East New Hope Drive. The Brazilian steakhouse already operates in downtown Austin; the proposed restaurant would give its churrasco rounds another address in the northern suburbs.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation registration, filed October 23, calls for a 10,178-square-foot, single-story restaurant built on an existing development pad. Construction is estimated to begin February 1, 2027, and finish August 31.
The project puts the brand near H-E-B Center at Cedar Park and the growing CedarView area, according to Williamson Reporter. Fogo’s existing Austin restaurant is at 200 Congress Avenue, in The Austonian downtown.
Fogo traces its start to Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 1979 and made its U.S. debut in Dallas in 1997. Its official history describes founders raised in southern Brazil’s churrasco tradition, followed by expansion from Porto Alegre to São Paulo and eventually the United States.
The company’s signature Full Churrasco Experience centers on repeated tableside service, with gaucho chefs bringing out cuts such as picanha, filet mignon, fraldinha and beef ribs. Fogo calls picanha, its lightly salted top-sirloin cap, the signature steak.
There is plenty of news here for the Market Table contingent, too. Fogo’s spread includes seasonal salads, smoked salmon, cured meats, aged cheeses and feijoada, the Brazilian black-bean stew served with rice. Calling that simply a salad bar has always felt a little unfair to the feijoada.
The Market Table can also be ordered as a meal on its own. Brazilian sides accompany the full churrasco experience, while certain premium steaks are sold as enhancements. Cedar Park’s own menu and prices have not yet been released.
The filing’s February-to-August 2027 schedule covers construction. Fogo has not announced when the Cedar Park dining room will start serving.
