Farley’s Family Restaurant in Farley, Iowa, named Sunday, October 25, as its last day, inviting customers back for a farewell brunch buffet from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The restaurant’s goodbye thanked diners for approximately three years of support.
In its final-service announcement, the restaurant invited diners to 302 First Street North. The spread was set to include bacon, smoked sausage, pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, chicken, hamburger steak and American fries.
An earlier official Sunday promotion had advertised $13.99 AYCE breakfast. The farewell notice promised an included drink, but did not give a final-day price.
Sunday breakfast had been a recurring AYCE fixture at Farley’s, generally advertised from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The family restaurant also served a regular menu through the week, with dine-in and carryout business alongside its Sunday buffet.
The restaurant previously operated as Mario’s Family Restaurant. An announcement on the earlier business page explained that the switch to Farley’s was a name change under the same owner. By March 2024, that page was directing customers toward the Farley’s account.
The First Street address had housed other restaurants before Mario’s. An older Dyersville Area Chamber of Commerce listing identifies BrickHaus Bar & Grill there, advertising burgers, sandwiches, fried chicken, fish, shrimp and homemade pizzas. Farley’s added its own Sunday breakfast routine to that restaurant history.
“After three wonderful years, today we say goodbye for now,” the restaurant wrote in its day-of farewell. It did not give a closure reason, announce another location or explain whether service might return. The wording leaves its longer-term plans open.
What it did give customers was a specific last opportunity to gather: one more Sunday buffet, a generous list of familiar dishes and a thank-you from the restaurant serving them.
