Fogo de Chão is planned for the former Brio Italian Grille in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, bringing tableside churrasco and its self-service Market Table to a restaurant space at Garden State Park.
The Brazilian steakhouse is listed as coming soon by Garden State Park’s landlord. Its intended address is 901 Haddonfield Road, in the development’s Towne Place section. Township-approved plans call for converting the existing restaurant, although an opening date has not been announced.
South Jersey Food Scene’s October 20 update reported that construction had not yet begun.
A new use for the former Brio
Brio opened here in 2007 as Brio Tuscan Grille and spent nearly two decades at the shopping center before closing in July. Local development reporter Mark Matthews of 42Freeway visited the restaurant on July 27 and documented its closure notice, along with moving trucks as the building was emptied.
The Fogo project was already well along in the paperwork. A design presentation dated to November 2025 surfaced in subsequent reporting, and 42Freeway first covered the proposed conversion in May 2026, while Brio was still serving. By July, Matthews reported that the remodeling work had been put out for construction bids.
The approved plans include enclosing the covered patio and reducing seating from 367 to 296. Renderings also show a substantial interior makeover, with a more open dining room.
Fogo’s national menus give a sense of what diners can expect from the concept: tableside cuts such as picanha, fraldinha and filet mignon, alongside a self-service Market Table with salads, cured meats, cheeses and smoked salmon. Feijoada, the black bean stew with sausage, also has a place in the spread.
The standard side dishes include warm pão de queijo, crispy polenta and caramelized bananas. Yes, the cheese bread is accounted for. Premium Wagyu cuts and other enhancements carry separate charges; a Cherry Hill menu has not yet been published.
Cherry Hill’s opening date, local prices and operating hours remain unannounced. The next milestone will be construction getting underway, followed by the restaurant’s own opening announcement.
