Thunder Mountain Buffet at Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, New York, is nearing the end of its $5.8 million renovation. The company continues to target November completion, and the buffet’s own restaurant page says the remodel is almost complete.
The buffet remains temporarily closed. Its website now carries “Coming Soon” and “Opening Soon” messages, with the resort saying it is putting the final touches on the space. An exact reopening day, new service schedule and post-renovation prices have not been announced.
The investment and November target first appeared in an August 17 company announcement. October reporting reaffirmed that timetable as Seneca discussed other projects across its properties. For guests who organize a casino visit around dinner, the buffet update was a particularly useful detail tucked into the sports-lounge news.
The resort describes the work as a remodel and modernization. It has posted photographs of the refreshed buffet space, but a detailed reopening menu has not followed. That leaves the specific stations, dishes and serving days to be revealed as the return gets closer.
There is still a buffet option in the building while that work finishes. The Seneca Café’s current page lists a $23 breakfast buffet from 7–11 a.m. and a $26 dinner buffet from 3–9 p.m. Those are the café’s offerings and prices, rather than a preview of Thunder Mountain’s new program.
The café itself received a $2.7 million renovation earlier in 2026. Together, the two projects represent an $8.5 million investment in those Salamanca dining venues, part of wider improvements by Seneca Resorts & Casinos, the Seneca Nation’s gaming enterprise.
For anyone following the company’s several restaurant projects, this is Thunder Mountain at Seneca Allegany, not Full.Plate Eatery at Seneca Niagara. The Salamanca resort is at 777 Seneca Allegany Boulevard.
A reopening date and the new buffet menu are the announcements still to come.
