Crossroads Family Buffet has begun its soft opening in Jasper, Indiana, bringing fried chicken, chicken and dumplings and a full homestyle spread to 25 Indiana Street. The restaurant advertised its first service for October 16, followed by a full weekend of buffet dining.
The new restaurant comes from the team behind Jasper Pub ‘N’ Grub, which introduced Crossroads as its next dining project. Its published buffet offering includes a fountain drink, tea, lemonade or water, plus the salad bar, soup, hot buffet and dessert.
The core lineup includes pork, seafood, potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and rolls. Additional entrees and sides rotate. Fried chicken and chicken and dumplings both make the list, a considerate arrangement for anyone who would rather not choose.
Adult lunch is $19.95 until 4 p.m., with dinner priced at $23.95 from 4 p.m. Children ages 3–7 are $6.95 and ages 8–12 are $11.95; children 2 and younger eat free. The restaurant advertises a daily 20 percent discount for guests 65 and older.
The Indiana Street location has fed Jasper under several names. Shoney’s previously operated at the address, followed by Legacy Steakhouse, which was announced in October 2022. Legacy’s menu included a salad bar; Crossroads puts the hot buffet, soup and dessert at the center of the meal.
When Legacy was introduced, Dubois County Free Press identified brother-and-sister partners Jared Weisheit and Tracey Price as the operators behind that restaurant. Jasper Pub ‘N’ Grub’s current announcement connects its team directly with Crossroads.
There is room for more than an ordinary lunch gathering. Crossroads has also been showing its banquet room, advertising space for groups of 10 to 150. Pre-opening posts documented new booth seating and a mural taking shape in the event space.
The regular schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m.–8 p.m., with Monday and Tuesday closed. The shorter Friday hours advertised for the soft-opening weekend were an introductory schedule.
With a drink and dessert included, there is a little less arithmetic between the first plate and the check. Deciding how much room to leave for chicken and dumplings is still your department.
