Khan Korean Grill & Bar announced its October 17 opening in Sterling, Virginia, finally bringing its long-planned all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue restaurant to Countryside Marketplace. The project first appeared in local reporting in February 2023. There has been a considerable amount of time to work up an appetite.
The Burn reported the opening announcement for the shopping center near Route 7 and Countryside Boulevard. Khan joins the center with grills built into its dining tables and two operating siblings already serving in Woodbridge and at Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax.
The original Sterling plan called for about 6,000 square feet near CVS. At the time, the operators told The Burn that a signature dish would be Khan steak, marinated in a house sauce. Sterling’s current menu and prices have not yet been confirmed, so that early description offers a preview rather than a complete opening-day order.
Two siblings opened while Sterling waited
The February 2023 report put the expected opening in early 2024, with construction still to begin. The team was also developing its Woodbridge restaurant, and Sterling was then expected to be the second location for the Korean barbecue concept.
The order changed. Woodbridge opened in 2024, followed by Fair Oaks in 2025. Sterling’s proposed second restaurant became its third.
There was a more visible sign of progress this March. In a March 20 follow-up, The Burn found temporary Khan Korean Grill & Bar signage in the windows and reported that work appeared to have resumed inside. By then, the project had been on the local restaurant watch list for more than three years.
The operators were already in the region’s restaurant business before the AYCE expansion. The original coverage linked them to Izakaya Khan restaurants in Annandale and Centreville, establishing a local restaurant connection beyond the new grill rooms.
October 17’s announcement moves the Sterling story from construction updates to an opening. The next useful details for diners are the location’s own AYCE lineup, prices and hours. After following this address since 2023, getting to debate what to order would be a welcome change.
