Captain Jack’s Seafood Buffet is approaching the end of its season in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The restaurant says it will close for winter at the end of October, leaving a little more time for crab legs before the seasonal break.
Its closing announcement gives the end of the month as the timeframe without naming a precise last service date. The wording describes a seasonal closing; no reopening date is included.
There is one nearer deadline for anyone considering an immediate visit. Captain Jack’s advertised a $39.99 all-you-can-eat seafood-buffet promotion for October 12–15, which ends today. That offer should not be read as the price for every remaining night of the season.
The restaurant at 1400 Highway 17 South has operated since 2012. Its published buffet menu advertises more than 140 items across hot dishes, a cold bar, salads and desserts, with snow crab legs at the center of the seafood offering.
There is plenty around them. The menu lists peel-and-eat shrimp, oysters on the half shell, clams, crawfish and mussels, along with fried flounder, scallops, oysters Rockefeller and crab imperial. She-crab soup and clam chowder provide an intermission from the shell-cracking.
The land side includes prime rib, steaks and fried chicken, plus sides such as fried okra, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes and hushpuppies. Banana pudding, cobblers and cheesecake appear among the desserts. Whole lobster is listed separately as an a-la-carte dinner, rather than as an inclusion in the standard buffet.
That breadth is part of the restaurant’s appeal for a table whose enthusiasm for seafood varies. One diner can work through the crab legs while another builds supper around chicken, vegetables and a bowl of chowder.
Buffet Authority’s Captain Jack’s profile has more background on the North Myrtle Beach stop. For a final visit this season, the restaurant’s stated window is the remainder of October; its notice does not specify the exact last evening.
