New India Curry House has opened at Oakwood Mall in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, bringing a daily lunch buffet and a familiar local restaurant connection to 4800 Golf Road, Section 104. New Maharaja says it has closed its Chippewa Falls location and relocated to the mall restaurant, so longtime customers have a new name and address to remember.
For the lunch-bound, the useful landmark is the HOM Furniture endcap. Volume One’s August preview places the new sit-down restaurant nearby in the former Five Guys space, outside the food court. Mango Indian is already in the food court, so Oakwood’s Indian dining options now require a slightly more specific meeting place than “at the mall.”
From Chippewa Falls to Eau Claire
New Maharaja’s local story began in November 2024 inside the Avalon Hotel at 1009 W. Park Avenue in Chippewa Falls, where it took over the former Bridgewater restaurant space. A December 2024 Volume One feature identified Ohm Parkash as owner and head chef and Francis as general manager, with lunch buffet service already part of the operation.
That profile described Parkash’s roots in New Delhi and decades of experience, along with a kitchen using freshly ground spices and a tandoor for naan.
Daily lunch buffet, then dinner
An undated opening notice in Eau Claire Foodies lists buffet service from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, without a buffet price. Dinner follows from 3 to 9:30 p.m.
For dinner, the restaurant’s published regular menu runs from samosas and tandoori dishes to curries including butter chicken, korma and vindaloo. Naan is on that menu too, for anyone who likes to give a good sauce its due.
