Noon Mirch’s seven-day Indian lunch buffet is back in Webster, Texas. In its September 10 announcement, the restaurant said daily service resumed September 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The return restores an everyday format interrupted during the pandemic. For regulars who organize lunch around having several curries within reach, a seven-day schedule makes the restaurant available for that ritual on an ordinary weekday.
Announced pricing is $17.37 Monday through Thursday, marking the 37th anniversary, and $19.89 Friday through Sunday, referencing the founding year. Someone has made the price list do a little family-history work, which is considerably more charming than another unexplained ninety-nine cents.
A weekday tradition returns
The restaurant’s family history traces the business to Monica Nanda’s opening in 1989, with recipes passed down through generations. Today, it identifies her son Navul and his wife, Annika, as the next-generation leaders of Noon Mirch. The buffet’s return is happening within that continuing family business, rather than at a newly opened restaurant borrowing an old name.
The pandemic interruption has a contemporary record. A September 2020 City of Webster newsletter described the lunch buffet’s closure as one of the safety changes at the restaurant, alongside reduced occupancy, distancing and disposable menus. Six years later, that snapshot helps explain what is returning: a dining routine that disappeared as the business adjusted its service.
Buffet dishes rotate. The announcement names chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, chana masala, naan and bhatura, with sweets including jalebi, burfi and kheer. That list describes the program, not guaranteed availability at every lunch.
The six-year daily-service pause did not mean the complete absence of buffets. An official event page documents a Diwali Grand Brunch Buffet held November 1–3, 2024. The distinction is useful for longtime customers: this year’s change is the restored seven-day lunch schedule, beyond the occasional festival spread.
The new announcement also lists selected Grand Buffets at $24.95, including a Diwali event November 6–8, 2026. Those dates have separate special-event pricing.
Noon Mirch is at 505 E. NASA Parkway, Suite A, in Webster, in the Houston area. Its regular restaurant service extends into the evening, but the restored lunch buffet has its own 11-to-3 window.
The festival buffet gives diners a date to circle. The daily buffet gives them something arguably more useful: a reason to leave the calendar alone and go to lunch.
