Feast Buffet, the Katy restaurant whose menu stretches from sushi and seafood to tamales and menudo, is developing a nearly 20,000-square-foot location in Plano, Texas.
The North Central Expressway project has a $2 million estimated interior construction cost, according to a state filing. Plano Weekly reported September 3 that interior work was continuing, with no opening date announced.
The Katy menu explains the ambition
The existing Katy restaurant advertises more than 200 dishes. Its seafood selection includes steamed blue crab, Cajun crawfish, salt-and-pepper shrimp, baked mussels and frog legs. Sushi and sashimi have their own section, and the hibachi grill offers steak, chicken and shrimp.
Feast also makes room for Mexican dishes such as tamales, menudo and chips with queso, alongside Chinese hot dishes, American barbecue and desserts. Those are offerings at Katy; a menu for the Plano restaurant has yet to be announced.
The construction documents give a concrete sense of the new restaurant’s size: 19,974 square feet. An earlier registration covered the building’s core and shell, making this a new-building project rather than a takeover of an old restaurant.
The interior filing lists Liu and Pan LLC as the owner, Ken Pan as its contact and TWZ Architects as the design firm. Its registered work schedule ended July 31, but September reporting still described construction.
Feast remains under development along Plano’s North Central Expressway corridor, with an opening announcement still to come.
