Sushi Village in Hicksville, New York, has closed after about 14 years, taking its all-you-can-eat sushi, hot noodles and tempura desserts off Old Country Road.
The restaurant served its final meals June 28, according to a notice posted outside and reported by Patch on August 12.
Sushi Village’s appeal extended well beyond rolls. Its former menu included soft-shell crab appetizers, yaki udon, yaki soba and hibachi fried rice. Banana and Oreo tempura brought a fried, sweet finish to an AYCE dinner.
From the Beverly Diner to AYCE sushi
Newsday places the restaurant’s opening in 2012, in the former Beverly Diner. At the time, it belonged to a small Sushi Village group with locations in Bayside, Queens, and Westwood, New Jersey.
Signs still visible in a video cited by Patch advertised weekday dining at $30.99 and weekends at $32.99.
Patch reported that the owners were not immediately available for comment. The reason for the closing and a replacement tenant have not been announced.
