La Mesa Mexican Buffet has opened in Sagamore Hills, Ohio, with a menu featuring mole enchiladas, pozole and birria as well as fajitas and beans.
La Mesa began serving in August at 500 W. Aurora Road, Suite 205, in Sagamore Square, then held its grand-opening celebration September 19. The renovated restaurant seats 116.
Behind it is Joaquin Montiel, whose 32 years in restaurants include becoming general manager of Dos Coronas, opening Tacos Mexicanos in Macedonia and taking a part ownership interest in Northfield Village’s Cantina en la Ocho, according to Nordonia Hills News. La Mesa brings that local restaurant background to an all-you-can-eat dining room.
Mole, ceviche and freshly made tortillas
The opening menu plans included birria tacos, pozole, empanadas, charro beans and freshly made tortillas. Later local coverage described mole enchiladas, picadillo, ceviche and fajitas, with rotating specials extending the selection.
La Mesa posts adult prices of $14.95 for lunch and $19.95 for dinner. Seniors 60 and older pay $12.95 and $16.95, respectively; children ages 7–12 are listed at $10.95 for lunch and $12.95 for dinner.
Weekday hours are 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Weekend service starts earlier, at 8 a.m., bringing breakfast into the mix before the restaurant closes at 9 p.m. There is also a bar for diners who would like a margarita with their meal.
