Dilworth, MN, has lost its Pizza Ranch dining room, at least for now. The restaurant has permanently closed its existing site, while the operator says it intends to relocate as soon as possible.
Valley News Live reported the closure September 8, citing the restaurant’s Facebook announcement. No secured replacement site or reopening date has been confirmed.
Pizza, Chicken and Cactus Bread
Pizza Ranch’s buffet makes pizza one part of a larger meal, sharing the line with fried chicken, salads, hot sides and desserts. Mashed potatoes and gravy sit comfortably in a dinner that may have started with a slice.
The chain’s Buffet Your Way service lets a diner request a pizza missing from the line and receive its first slice when it is ready. That leaves room for a favorite topping combination even when the current pans suggest something else.
Then there is Cactus Bread, the cinnamon-streusel dessert that occupies its own place in the Pizza Ranch menu. A visit can move from pizza to chicken to a sweet final slice without leaving the buffet.
Fargo is the alternative named by the operator
The closure announcement directs diners to Pizza Ranch at 4480 23rd Avenue South in Fargo, ND. That is an existing restaurant, rather than the proposed new home of the Dilworth business.
The Dilworth location had also stopped operating in July, according to Valley News Live. The September announcement makes the closure of this site permanent. The operator has not given a reason for the closure, and its hoped-for move remains without an announced address or date.
