Bagichaa Indian Restaurant & Pizza celebrated its grand opening in Hillsboro over the Sept. 26-27 weekend with the kind of spread its full name promises: Indian dishes, Indo-Chinese specialties, Indian-style pizzas, desserts and mango lassi, all gathered into a $19.99 lunch buffet.
The celebration is the grand-opening event, not necessarily Bagichaa’s first day in business. Public event listings for the restaurant show buffet programming extending back into June, including recurring weekday and weekend service. In other words, Bagichaa has been feeding people for a while; this was the weekend it put a banner around the occasion.
A Buffet That Crosses a Few Lanes
The Sept. 26-27 grand-opening buffet ran from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and advertised chole bhature, butter chicken, dum biryani, pani puri, Indo-Chinese specials, Bagichaa’s signature Indian-style pizzas, mango lassi and desserts. Adult pricing was $19.99, with lower prices for younger diners and seniors.
That combination is not simply a grand-opening novelty. Bagichaa’s regular restaurant identity also spans familiar Indian standards such as butter chicken, biryani, paneer tikka masala, chole bhatura and tandoori dishes alongside Indo-Chinese food and pizzas such as chili paneer.
The buffet is also continuing beyond grand-opening weekend. Recurring Wednesday-through-Friday lunch buffet listings advertise a $14.99 spread, with examples including butter chicken, dal makhani, paneer tikka masala, chicken Manchurian, vegetable pakora, rice, naan, Indian specialty pizzas, chai and sweets. The restaurant describes the selections as changing from day to day.
A Familiar Address for Indian Pizza
There is another layer to the story at 4950 NE Belknap Court. The same suite previously housed Curry & Crust, a Hillsboro Indian restaurant whose menu also paired traditional Indian dishes with Indian-style pizzas, including paneer tikka masala, chicken tikka masala and chili paneer versions.
That makes Bagichaa’s arrival look unusually continuous from a diner’s point of view: the name on the door has changed, but Indian food and Indian pizza remain central to the address. Buffet Authority did not find reliable documentation establishing whether the two businesses share ownership, staff or family ties, so the similarity should not be read as proof of a formal rebrand.
What is clear is that the buffet is not disappearing with the grand-opening balloons. Bagichaa is continuing weekday all-you-can-eat lunch service, giving Hillsboro a restaurant where butter chicken, Manchurian dishes and pizza can legitimately wind up on the same plate – which is a fairly efficient argument for bringing a second plate.
