Fogo de Chão appears to be planning an Omaha, Nebraska, restaurant at Village Pointe, although the Brazilian steakhouse chain has not yet announced the market publicly. Two independent development sources point to the same address, making the project considerably more substantial than restaurant rumor.
Grow Omaha reports that a City of Omaha building permit filed Sept. 18 identifies the former Kona Grill at 295 N. 170th Street. Separately, RED Development leasing materials name Fogo de Chão as the occupant of the roughly 7,800-square-foot building.

That combination — a permit and landlord material — is strong development evidence, but it is not the same thing as an official opening announcement. Fogo does not currently list Omaha among its operating or coming-soon restaurants, and no opening date has surfaced.
If the project moves forward, Omaha would join a period of aggressive growth for the continuous-service churrasco chain. Local reporting places Fogo at 128 restaurants in 29 states and 11 countries, with Kansas City and Minneapolis among the nearest existing locations to Nebraska.

Fogo’s Full Churrasco format uses continuous tableside service rather than a conventional buffet as the centerpiece, with gaucho chefs circulating with fire-roasted meats while guests also use the Market Table and Feijoada Bar. It is one of the clearest examples of how abundance dining can be structured around movement through the room rather than a single self-service line.
For now, Omaha belongs in the “likely, not announced” category. The permits say one thing, the landlord says the same thing, and the company has not yet said it out loud.
