Seven Sushi & Robata is preparing a second Houston restaurant at 3304 Milam Street in Midtown, extending the all-you-can-eat sushi concept beyond its original Asiatown location. Owners Grace and Leo Xia are taking over the former d’Alba space and are targeting an opening this fall.
The Midtown restaurant will retain Seven’s tiered AYCE system rather than simplifying it for expansion. Current reported pricing is $22 for weekday lunch, $37 for the Core dinner tier and $57 for Premium. The higher tiers expand the range of sushi, robata and other dishes available during the unlimited meal.
Seven Is Taking Its Three-Tier AYCE Menu to Midtown
That structure gives Seven a way to operate at more than one value level without abandoning the unlimited proposition. Lunch competes as an everyday meal, while the Premium tier pushes AYCE into territory more often associated with a higher-end sushi dinner.
The physical restaurant will also be different from the original. The Midtown location is expected to include a roughly 50-seat bar and late-night weekend programming, positioning the restaurant as both an AYCE destination and a nightlife venue. One operational boundary has already been made clear: the patio will be drinks and à-la-carte only, keeping the unlimited experience indoors.
The New Houston Location Adds a Large Bar and Late-Night Programming
That detail sounds small, but it reveals how carefully an AYCE restaurant has to define the edges of the offer. Unlimited dining depends on time, location and service controls; carrying the same rules onto an open patio attached to a bar is not always practical.
If the fall opening holds, Seven will move from a single-location Asiatown concept to a two-neighborhood Houston brand without changing the core structure that made it distinctive. The sushi marathon is moving closer to downtown, but it is staying inside.
